Can Vaccines Cause Autism?
Critical Thinking and Reflection Questions
- Vaccines work by stimulating the body’s immune system to attack bacteria and viruses that are composed of proteins and other chemicals not native to the body. how then can they stimulate immune systems into attacking things that belong in the body? (hint: think of mistaken identity)
Vaccinations are effective in assisting the body in its battle against viruses and bacteria. We need these vaccines simply due to the fact that the majority of the organisms does not possess the same antigens to be equipped in the event of any virus. “When external invaders like bacteria or viruses penetrate the body, immune system called lymphocytes produce antibodies as a response. Antibodies are protein molecules. These antibodies defend the body against additional infection by battling an antigen, which is an outside agent that causes illness. Vaccines generate protein molecules, which drive the immune system to discover where the virus is hiding and fight it, and this is why they are so effective. Because of this, “the body is then able to detect and eliminate the virus if it enters the body again,” which is a positive outcome. In conclusion, it is essential to have access to vaccinations since they assist in providing protection against illnesses that might affect our body.
- many of the diseases we vaccinate against such as whooping cough are caused by bacteria. Why don’t we just use antibiotics?
Even though all immune standards are categorized and some of them may respond better to vaccines than antibiotics, some people who use vaccines believe that vaccines could really solve all of the problems, and they lose sight of the fact that we continue to have antibiotics, which are really beneficial against different diseases. This is the case despite the fact that some immune systems may respond better to vaccines than antibiotics. Whooping cough, diphtheria, and diphtheria are three diseases that may be prevented by receiving the DTaP vaccination. For optimal protection, the DTaP vaccine should be administered to your kid in a total of five separate doses. Your child will need one dose at each of the following ages: 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 15 through 18 months, and 4 through 6 years.” As a result, some doctors would recommend vaccines from the beginning, but as I said earlier, their effects are different in everyone’s bodies. However, if vaccines do not work, they may recommend using antibiotics instead.
- Vaccines have side effects. Sometimes those side effects kill. Are vaccines worth the risk?
It is well-established that there is no one factor that leads to autism. According to the findings of certain studies, autism seems to be caused by a confluence of hereditary and nongenetic, or environmental, factors in most cases. It would seem that these factors contribute to a child’s increased likelihood of developing autism. It is essential to bear in mind, despite the fact that increased risk is not the same thing as causation, that there are still some individuals who think that vaccinations cause autism, despite the fact that this is not the case. There are a great number of variables that may be associated to vaccinations causing autism, however, those factors are external ones such as genetic, environmental, and more. Vaccines are not the cause of autism. In conclusion, I would argue that the individuals who claim that vaccinations are the cause of autism either do not have a sufficient amount of understanding about immunizations or they do never take into account the possibility that other variables might cause autism.
